World Hepatitis Day

World hepatitis day programme was organized by Third year BSc Nursing students of Lisie College of Nursing on July 28 th 2022. The programme was invocated by the prayer song and Ms. Tinku Jolly, third year BSc nursing student welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Shanu Moonjely (Asst.Director, Lisie Hospital) inaugurated the programme. In the inaugral address, Father briefed the importance of vaccination, and emphasized the necessity to eradicate Hepatitis by 2030. Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Paul Karedan, highlighted about the measures to prevent hepatitis in his presidential address. The theme was unveiled by Dr. Prakash Zacharias (Senior. Consultant, Dept. of Gastroenterology). He informed the audience regarding the types, transmission and complications of hepatitis. He also emphasized the need to strengthen the preventive measures to eradicate Hepatitis. Documentary release was done by Rev. Fr. Rojan Nangelimalil, on the basis of World Hepatitis Day theme- “Bringing hepatitis care closer to you”, prepared by
third year BSc. Nursing Students of Lisie College of Nursing. They performed a street play on World Hepatitis Day theme. Ms. Beema Beevi third year BSc nursing student, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was concluded by Lisie Anthem. On the same day, an awareness programme was conducted on the basis of World Hepatitis Day theme – “Bringing hepatitis care closer to you” at South Railway station by Third year BSc. Nursing Students, Lisie college of Nursing. Around 100 people attended the event. And the programme was opened with a speech by Health Inspector Mr. Arun N. A. A street play was performed by third year BSc. Nursing students and the programme was concluded by station master Mr. Varghese Stephan. The programme got great applause and appreciation from people who had gathered
