International Day against Drug Abuse

The International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is observed on June 26th every year. This year (2023), it was observed with the theme ” People first, Stop stigma and discrimination, Strengthen prevention.” The International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was observed on 26/06/23 by the 3rd year B.Sc Nursing students of Lisie College of Nursing under the guidance of Prof. Manju George, Sr.Liji Antony and Mrs.Nayana C Sunny at Govt. Mental Health Center, Aranattukara, Thrissur at 10:00am. The formal function was begun by evoking God’s blessing. It was followed by a welcome speech by Ms.Rizuwana (student). Dr.Subramanyan, Senior consultant gave the presidential address and inaugurated the program by releasing the theme. He emphasized on the need of continuing the efforts for prevention and eradication of drug abuse untill June 26th, 2024. Dr.Latha, deputy superintendent and Nursing superintendent Mrs.Vijaya felicitated the gathering. Later on, a role-play based on the theme was performed by the 3rd year B.Sc Nursing Students. In between the drama, an inspiring psychoeducation was provided by 6 students. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms.Rini Thomas (student) at 11am.
