GNM

The Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery, a 3 year programme is approved by INC and KNMC. On successful completion of the three year course the students shall be awarded with Diploma in GNM and Registration certificate separately, which entitles them to function as Registered Nurse and Midwife (RNRM).

Aims

  • To prepare students to work effectively as members of the health team.
  • To train students to closely assess the nursing need of the patients monitor the condition of patients provide effective nursing care and assist the doctors in surgical procedures
  • To learn to set up medical equipment in operation theatres and adeptly handle patients during emergency situations.
The aspirants are additionally trained to be job-ready by imbibing computer and interpersonal skills which help them in advancing their role. Through a culture of patient-first the students are encouraged to possess unique qualities of character and spirit.

Research

Research is integral to the development of Nursing Science. Research studies focusing on improvement of Nursing Care Delivery and Patient Outcome, Quality Improvement in Nursing and Nursing Education are the focus of research. Faculty and students are engaged in research activities in these areas. B. Sc. Nursing students undertake group projects in the third year guided by faculty members.
