World breastfeeding week

World breastfeeding week was celebrated at Lisie Hospital by the 4 th year BscNursing students. The Programme was held from 1 st to 5 th August 2022 at Lisie Hospital, G H hospital Ernakulam and PHC koonamavu respectively.
Day 1 01 August 2022
The inauguration ceremony was conducted at reception area of Lisie hospital. The programme was invocated by the prayer song and Ms. Shany 4 th year Bsc Nursing student welcomed the guests. Rev.Fr.(Dr).Paul Karedan, Director of Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions lighted the lamp and delivered inaugural address. The theme of 2022 was “Step up for Breastfeeding, Educate and Support” was unveiled by Capt.Icy Joseph Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operation Officer of Lisie Hospital followed by thoughtful message by Dr.Simi Raj (Associate Consultant of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Lisie hospital). Dr.Lissa Peter Vice Principal of Lisie College of Nursing delivered an awareness talk on breastfeeding. 4 th Year Bsc Nursing Students organized an awareness cultural programme. Lyrical narration was performed by Ms. Rose Mary Babu, 4 th Year Bsc Nursing student projecting the importance of exclusive breastfeeding to develop healthy mother baby bond. Followed by documentary presentation prepared by 4 th year Bsc Nursing .The programme come to an end by thanks proposed by Ms. Krishna M R, 4 th year Bsc Nursing student and gathering was dispersed after National anthem.
Day 2 02 August 2022
The programme was conducted at General Hospital Ernakulam. Ms.Ameesha Joy 4 th year Bsc Nursing student welcomed the gathering. Inaugural address and theme release was performed by Dr.Anilkumar HOD, paediatrics of General Hospital followed by an awareness talk given by Dr. Arundhadhi paediatrician General Hospital. Mrs. Mary Paulose Associate Prof. of Lisie college of Nursing in her talk emphasized the importance of breastfeeding. Educational and cultural programme was conducted by 4 th Year Bsc Nursing. Lyrical narration was done by Ms.Rose Mary Babu, followed by Folk song lead by Ms. Rose Mary Christiana and team. The luckiest mother was gifted through lucky draw. Quiz was conducted and audience responded well and prizes were distributed to the winners. The programme ended with national anthem.
Day 3 03 August 2022
The programme was conducted at PHC, Koonamavu. Ms.Sheba 4 th year Bsc Nursing student welcomed the gathering, inaugural address and theme release was performed by Dr.Neethu chief medical officer, PHC Koonamavu. Mr. Biju Junior public health inspector, delivered an awareness talk regarding importance of initiating breastfeeding. Message on breastfeeding and importance of breastfeeding spoken by Sr. Renjitha CSN Assistant Professor of Lisie College of Nursing. Lyrical narration was done by Ms.Rose Mary Babu, followed by Folk song lead by Ms. Rose Mary Christiana and team. Health talk was given by Ms.Elizabeth, Ms.Aiswarya and Ms. Devika . Quiz was conducted and prizes distributed. Programme ended by National anthem.
Day 4 04 August 2022
The programme was conducted at B ward of Lisie hospital . Ms.Akshaya Jacob 4 th year Bsc Nursing student welcomed the gathering.Inaugural address and theme release was performed by Mrs.Suma,B Ward in charge of Lisie Hospital and the message of breastfeeding week was delivered by Ms.Shiya Jacob Assistant Professor of Lisie College of Nursing. Luckiest mother and baby was awarded with small gift. Quiz was conducted and prizes distributed. Lyrical narration was done by Ms.Rose Mary Babu, followed by Folk song lead by Ms. Rose Mary Christiana and team. Health talk was given by Ms.Arya, Ms.Sonu and Ms. Shabina. Programme ended by National anthem.
Day 5 05 August 2022
The programme was conducted at paediatric ward of Lisie hospital. Ms.Akshaya Jacob 4 th year Bsc Nursing student welcomed the gathering. The theme of 2022 was revealed Rev.Fr.George Thelikatt, Asst.Director of Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions followed by thoughtful message by Dr.Tony Paul Mampilly HOD and senior consultant of Paediatrics and Neonatology of Lisie hospital .The message of breastfeeding week was delivered by Ms.Mrudula E S Assistant Professor of Lisie College of Nursing. A consolidated report on breastfeeding week conduced at various centres was presented by Ms.Akshara Jacob. Ms.Sandra, Ms.Anitta and Ms. Mareena delivered a health talk on components of breastfeeding, positions and
advantages of both mother and baby. Quiz was conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners. Programme ended by National anthem.
